Scarecrow in Progress

In between working on 28 Peek-A-Boo Plants, I've been trying to bring a scarecrow to life. I've never made one before, and I wanted him to look different from any other I've seen.
He's still a work in progress. I'll be writing a how-to soon.
Wooden whittled (not "widdled") teeth. Small branches woven together in a circle for the eyes.
I'm working on the shading and colours of his burlap skin, and then it's off to work on the body.

That's pretty awesome, but even more terrifying. Is this a "good" scarecrow or one that's plotting to tear my arms off?

He is awesome, and I'll bow down to you (as long as you promise not to sick him on me).

BTW I just discovered your site recently. Love it. You are very creative. Thanks for sharing.

Larry Abbot: Widower.
Pfister: Widower than what?
Larry Abbot: What do you mean "Widower than what"?
Pfister: You said he was widower.
Larry Abbot: He is.
Pfister: Widower than what?
Larry Abbot: I don't know what you're talking about. He isn't widower than anything.
Pfister: You mean he's just a "wittle" man.
Larry Abbot: That's right.
Pfister: That's all I was asking.

Submitted by halloween spirit (not verified) on October 9, 2009 - 6:42am.I know there are going to be lots of splinters to pull out. Nothing with a grin that large and excited is good. Especially when the teeth are made of wood. Let's do the numbers:
1. Clowns? Check.
2. Dragons? Check.
3. Creepy Uncle Maurice (with his belt-slung jar of lollipops for the kids)? Check.
Will he have strands of stringy hair or a hat for his head?

Submitted by KingUnicorn (not verified) on October 9, 2009 - 9:33am.KingUnicorn: He has a hat (beaten up and aged since that pic). I think he would look good with hair, but I'm undecided. Was thinking of playing with the raffia (maybe soaked in paint). But I don't know.
