The Counter

The front and top of the main desk is made of cardboard (I've published an article in the Terrifying Tutorials section that shows how to do this technique). Underneath are bins (used for storage of Halloween items during the year, and filled with regular items I've hidden away during the party) covered with a black throw.

Guests get their first hint that something isn't right by the hands poking out from beneath the counter top.
