Look Ma! I Caught a Prop!
While I prefer to make my props out of paper mache, catching one would be quicker. Yetch passed along this news story about Mr. Xian who caught a six pound rat in Fuzhou, China.
How did he catch it? He just reached out and grabbed it by the tail before seizing it by the scruff of the neck. Ew.
The tail is 12 inches long.
While you and I may find the act unthinkable, keep in mind that Chinese bamboo rats are often sold for meat. Double ew.
Personally, I'd have to say the hind feet are the most impressive part of the animal. They look to be the size of a dog's paw.
The discovery of the picture has timed itself perfectly since I am currently working on Marmota Monax's back feet and was lacking inspiration.
