Less than Two Weeks to FanExpo 2014
I have no idea how we've arrived in August, but Fan Expo is about to raise the circus tent in Toronto in less than two weeks. Despite my apparent black outs when it comes to time, my muscle memory has been hard at work, creating new beasties for the big weekend.
I've begun the process of the practice table which can be particularly challenging when introducing new types of figures or items, and this year there are many.
Old favourites will still be available, though in smaller quantity. There's a small crop of Peek-A-Boo eyeball plants and Carnivorous plants (9 of each), as well as mini pumpkins (only 20). There are some Little Minions (currently only the ones pictured) too, and of course a group of Plague Doctors.
New this year are the Montauks, currently Bison and Bird inspired, and time willing a smaller Badger creation.
Straight from the crypt are Catacomb Creatures that you can hang on your wall.
Large Pumpkin Folk have emerged and are ready for Halloween shenanigans too.
And last but not least, some pumpkin, owl and zombie magnets.
I spent yesterday taking photographs of some of the items you'll find on this year's table. I hope to roll those out over the next week.
I'll be in Artist Alley in the South Building, table A62 in what I've affectionately started calling "The Dead End", where horror artists are hidden away in the corner (more isolated from Festival of Fear brethren than ever before, as Rue Morgue has picked up stakes and moved to the North Building, sadly).
I hope to see some familiar faces again this year! So nice to see people who make the pilgrimage again and again to the wonderful chaos that is FanExpo.
