Canadian Creepers

Canadian Creepers flag

Blogs and websites from some of my fellow Canadians.

NameDescription

A great blog from Nova Scotia: "Along with ramblings about the things I love about Halloween, props I'm working on for my yard haunt and Halloween-related road trips, I'm hoping to include some Canadian (specifically Nova Scotian) ghost stories, legends and more".

I feel a certain affinity toward Arana Muerta, or "Dead Spider", though I have never met her. I find it rare to see websites that highlight the talented, artistic Halloween creations of women. Even rarer do I find fellow Canadians online who share their creative approach to paper mache creatures. The thing I respect about her work is her attention to detail. While haunters often pour their efforts into large displays, they tend to overlook (or completely ignore) finer details (mainly the little props). I'm all about small details. And so is Dead Spider. Check out her very detailed how-to's.

Looking for tips on how to make an animated werewolf? How about a cemetery fence or zombie ground breaker? You'll find these and more on this Ontario haunter's site.

Who knew there was beautiful vintage style Halloween folk art being created in Oshawa Ontario? Be sure to visit this EHAG (Eclectic Halloween Artist Group) member's website to browse some paper mache beauties.

Not really a Halloween site, Canadian cartoonist Jay Stephens has a really fun blog about all things monster when it comes to cartoons, classic movies, toys, actors, and more. He's a big fan of Boris Karloff and has a great website of his professional work as well. If you go to his blog, be sure to visit his friend Doktor Viktor Von Kreep too.

A Halloween site from Montreal with links for recipes, party games, decoration ideas and more.

Created in 2004, the Ontario Haunter's Club website is a place where "you can find various 'How To' Projects for your own Halloween Haunt as well as a list of CANADIAN & International Companies where you can find supplies to build your next ghoulish creation". You can also join their mailing list and chat with other members.

Part haunt pictures, part how-to, this Ontario haunter's website has a nice tutorial on making a floating ghost.

From Thunder Bay Ontario, this blog focuses on movie and book reviews in the vampire genre.

From Quebec, a young couple shares their haunt plans and love for Halloween.

Zombie Daily is the blog of Sudbury artist Rob Sacchetto.

Straight to you from Ontario's Hammer: "Join me in my decorating madness, recipes, how tos, and general spookiness!"

The zombie walk started one gloomy Sunday, a week before hallows eve in 2003. A handful of the living dead rose from their graves to wander the streets of Toronto in search of brains. The plague returned every year, and the zombie count grew into a large and deadicated legion of the undead.

The title "Shades of Goth" might sound outside the Halloween arena, but anyone who appreciates a good dose of macabre should check it out.

Introducing bloodtyping.blogspot.com, brand new blog as of July 2009: "Indulging my fascination with all things vampire..."

Another brand new blog, but this one comes to us from Sault St. Marie.
