Canadian Events

I will review these links each season. In the meantime, if you happen to stumble across a dead link, please let me know. If you don't see your province listed, it means I haven't found any links...yet.

At the Montreal Botanical Gardens, Halloween starts when October does (as it should be). From the 3rd until the 31st, you can enjoy contests, a picnic tent, theatre and play area for the kids, and squash galore.

British Columbia

The only Western Canadian gathering of prop builders where home and professional haunters get together to share prop making techniques, ideas and good times.

British Columbia

A listing of local events (including the annual Zombie walk), haunts, theatre and all things creepy in and around the Vancouver area.

British Columbia

Willing spirits in costume come together to pay tribute to the departed and to celebrate the brilliance of life. Stilt walkers, jugglers, dancers, and musicians lead spectators through the neighbourhood. The evening features shrines, fire performance, supernatural beings, and dancing in the street. I've linked to the main Public Dreams Website. Search their events (though the parade is often highlighted on their homepage).

Nova Scotia

Choose from a listing of Events, Ghost & Graveyard Tours, Harvest Festivals, Haunted Sites, and Nova Scotia Pumpkin links and information. Great site.

Nova Scotia

The Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia devotes most of October to its pumpkinfest. There are a variety of activities - some Halloween-related, some simply harvest-related.

Ontario

Oh to be in Ottawa. Haunted Hayrides, Corn Mazes (with donations going to Canadian Athletes), Live Shows, a pumpkin patch and lots more await you at the Saunders Farm.

Ontario

At this Cumberland Farm, you have a choice of partaking in the Pumpkin Festival during the day or the Kiwanis Skreamers attraction at night. Or both.

Québec

Quebec City utilizes its old world charm as a setting for Spooky Shows, a Lantern Tour, and a Costume Parade. On their site, look under Activities, then Special Events, then Halloween.

Yukon

According to the City of Whitehorse Website, there will be Games, a Costume Parade, and more Tricks n' Treats. It's usually listed listed under Parks and Recreation + Special Events.

Yukon

I've never been to Watson Lake, but having hot chocolate and hot dogs in Wye Lake Park after trick or treating sounds good to me.

Newfoundland / Labrador

The Royal Canadian Legion hosts an adult dance and sponsors a Halloween Costume Contest. There's no address listed. Apparently Port Blandford is small enough that everyone knows where the Legion is. I love it.

Ontario

It's "Spooky Halloween" time in Keene. The village transforms itself into a haunted haven for ghosts and ghouls! Dress in costume if you like and be prepared to enjoy ghastly treats, Halloween games and contests, crafts, wagon rides, a magic show, face painting and palm reading. If the main link doesn't work, try their homepage and click on 'Special Events'.

Ontario

They came, at first, in groups of two and three. With each passing year, their numbers grow - along with their vile cravings for deliciously succulent human brains. Some day, their guttural moans and outstretched hands may well outnumber those of the terrified living. Join them.
